Union Minister Jitendra Singh assures IRS officers of speedy promotion

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Dr Jitendra Singh met a group of Indian Revenue Service Officers (Customs and Indirect Taxes) of 2010 Batch on Friday in New Delhi. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' During the meeting, the officers discussed various issues related to their service with the Minister. They briefed the Minister about the administrative rule under which five years of service in Senior Time Scale is compulsorily required for being promoted to Junior Administrative Grade. The officers requested exemption in their case and also said that the recruitment rule making five years in STS as mandatory for promotion to JAG was introduced through amendments in 2016 after the officers were promoted to STS. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> <br />'' After the discussions, the Minister assured the IRS officers of speedy promotion. He said that their case will be considered and the promotion will be done in due time. Dr Singh said that the Department of Personnel and Training has been working towards curbing stagnation in promotions.</span><br />''  <br />
