Union Minister Giriraj Singh visits Anand district in Gujarat to study livelihood of dairy farmers

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Giriraj Singh today visited Anand district in Gujarat to study the livelihood of dairy farmers. He held discussions with the senior officials of National Dairy Development Board, Gujarat Milk Marketing Federation GCMMF, Kaira District Cooperative Milk Producers' Union and Institute of Rural Management Anand IRMA. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Correspondent reports that the focus was on ways to improve the livelihood of dairy farmers through different innovative business models.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister Giriraj Singh visited NDDB's manure management initiative at Anand's Zakariyapura village. While interacting with the farmers he appreciated them for adopting a new technology of biogas plants. These biogas plants are producing gas to be used as cooking fuel. The bio slurry produced from these biogas plants is used as organic fertilisers. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Union Minister also advised to promote poultry amongst small dairy farmers to enhance their incomes. He said that dairying in India is more about livelihoods to millions of farmers. He said that NDDB is promoting technology-driven income generating activities for the dairy farmers to fulfill the dream of Prime Minister Modi for doubling the income of farmers.</span><br />''
