Gangapuram Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Tourism, Culture and Development of North Eastern Region of India and Dr A K Abdul Momen, Foreign Affairs Minister of Bangladesh inaugurated the Indo-Bangla Sylhet Festival at Silchar in the Barak Valley of South Assam this evening.<br />''<br />''Indian Ministry of Culture and India Foundation are jointly organising the festival.  The program is being organised in the context of the historical relations between Sylhet and Barak Valley of South Assam. Sylhet was a part of Assam during the period of 1874 to 1947, and before that it was a part of undivided Bengal.
