Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu flags off Naharlagun-Guwahati Shatabdi Express

Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu today flagged-off the Naharlagun-Guwahati Shatabdi Express from Naharlagun through video conferencing. The express train will travel a distance of 332 KM in just 6 hour time with only 3 stoppages in between. It will have latest LHB Coaches to provide extra comfort in the train. <br/><br/>Mr. Prabhu said, government is working keeping in view the benefit and development of the poorest people in the country. He also said that all the non-electrified line in north-east will be electrified soon. The Minister also laid the foundation stone of Murkongselek-Pasighat new BG line. He formally started the commencement of survey for 7 other new BG lines, of around 600 kms, between Lekhapani-Kharsang, Doom Dooma-Namsai-Wakro, Dangori-Roing, Deomali-Naharkatia, Kharsang-Miao-Deban, Tinsukia-Pasighat via Simaluguri-Kanubari. <br/><br/>At the flagging-off function at Naharlagun Railway Station, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said, it is a historic moment for the people of the state. He said, a long standing demand is fulfilled.Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Raiways Rajen Gohain and Deputy Chief Minister Chawna Mein were also present at the function. <br/><br/>Earlier in the first week of this month, MoS Railways Manoj Sinha formally commenced the final location survey of 3 railway lines of about 853 KM in the state, which would also connect Tawang at an altitude of 10,000 ft above sea level.
