Union Minister Dr Virendra Kumar addresses inaugural ceremony of Divya Kala Mela 2023 in Mumbai; says govt making constant efforts to empower divyangjan

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar on Thursday said that the Government is making constant efforts to empower the divyangjan so that they too can contribute towards making an AtmaNirbhar Bharat. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Divya Kala Mela 2023 in Mumbai's MMRDA Grounds on Thursday evening, Dr. Kumar said the unique Fair is the result of imparting skill training from an industry perspective to the specially-abled so as to make them financially independent.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Also present on the occasion, Minister of State for Social Justice, Mr. Ramdas Athawale said, the Fair is about empowering the divyangjan and saluting their spirit. He urged Mumbaikars to visit the fest and encourage the artists and entrepreneurs.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' The ten day Divya Kala Mela 2023 is an unique exhibition cum sale of products made by divyang entrepreneurs and artisans from across the country. Besides being an opportunity to go vocal for locals, the Divya Kala Mela will present a broad range of products like home decor, clothing, handicrafts, handlooms, embroidery works, stationary, packaged food, gifts, toys, accessories, etc made by around 200 divyang artisans from 24 States and Union Territories, showcasing strong grit and determination.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Divya Kala Mela will remain open from 11 A.M. to 9 P.M. till the 25th of  February. Apart from shopping, visitors can also enjoy cultural activities by divyang artists and well known professions in the evenings and grab a bite of their favourite cuisine from various parts of the country.<br />'' <br />''The fair, organised by the Divyangjan Empowerment Department in association with National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation aims to provide marketing support to divyangjan for their products and businesses. Last year, the fair was held at New Delhi's Kartavya Path, where lakhs of visitors appreciated the arts and crafts of the specially-abled. Post Mumbai, the fair will move to Bhopal in March.</span><br />
