Union Minister Dr L Murugan visits AIR Srinagar station; inaugurates renovated Auditorium

<span style="color: black;">Union Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Dr L Murugan visited All India Radio Srinagar station yesterday and inaugurated the renovated Auditorium in the AIR complex. The Auditorium had got severely damaged in 2014 Kashmir Floods and was renovated for utilization, abreast with latest technologies both in audio and video.<br />'' <br />''While speaking on the occasion, Mr Murugan said that All India Radio Srinagar has played a pivotal role in connecting Kashmir with the rest of India with its quality and diverse broadcast of myriad programmes in varied languages.<br />'' <br />''He said that the station has been able to project the rich culture, art and tradition of Jammu and Kashmir to the world and in particular to India and its people.<br />'' Mr Murugan said he was happy in inaugurate the renovated Auditorium by dedicating its services to the wonderful use by All India Radio and Doordarshan. He said the renovation of the auditorium demonstrated the spirit of Kashmir, AIR and India alike and said it showed that we can overcome all difficulties and will stood again in face of challenges. He termed All India Radio as a backbone and said that it has played an important role since last several decades in Jammu and Kashmir. He also toured different sections of AIR Srinagar and also interacted with the staff and enquired about the working of the station.<br />'' <br />''Later in the afternoon, the Union Minister visited Trout Fish Farm at Laribal in Dachigaam on the outskirts of Srinagar city. He inspected the rearing units, machinery and other facilities available at the farm and interacted with the fish farmers. He handed-over Pradhan Mantri Matysa Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) trout unit allotments to the selected beneficiaries of Ganderbal, Budgam and Srinagar districts.<br />'' <br />''During his interaction with the farmers, the Minister said that Government of India is committed to double the famers' income and has taken several initiatives under the leadership of Prime Minister.<br />''<br />''He appealed to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to come forward and become a part of the nation building and entrepreneurs. He said that trout farming has emerged as an important source of income and people should take benefit out of it.</span>
