<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has welcomed the decision of the Odisha government to allocate land for the construction of a memorial in honour of the now famous Paika Rebellion of Odisha. In a series of tweets, the Minister has said that the then finance minister Arun Jetley had earmarked funds in the budget of 2017-18 to celebrate the 200 years of the Paika Rebellion, thereby giving this momentous piece of history both national and international recognition. <br />''<br />''He said that the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been sincerely trying to bring to the fore, the sagas of courage of the Odias from the depths of history.  The Odisha government, in a cabinet decision, has allotted 9.685 acres of land for the construction of the said memorial at Barunei under the Khordha district of the state with the cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Indian Oil Foundation. </span><br />
