Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan says, Modi govt. is committed to transform agriculture into an efficient business

<span style="color: #222222;">Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said that the Government of India, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to transform agriculture into an efficient business. Addressing a farmers' rally in Dhenkanal in Odisha today, Mr Pradhan said that the farmers across the country will stand to gain more under the new farm laws.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">AIR Correspondent reports, addressing the farmers, the Union Minister dismissed the fear and apprehension over the new farm laws as manufactured. He said, these farm laws, while envisaging one nation one market, also aim at making the farmers self-reliant. He made it clear that under the new farm laws, the farmers can have the option to sell their produce anywhere in the country including in the APMC mandis. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Citing an example to highlight the Union Government's pro-farmer policies, Mr. Pradhan said that as against the procurement of 2.8 million metric tonnes of paddy at the rate of Rs 1,310 per quintal from Odisha during the Congress government in 2013-14, the Modi government has procured as much as 7.05 million metric tonnes of paddy from the State at the rate of Rs 1,815 per quintal last year. The Union Government has transferred more than Rs 60,000 crore during the last 6 years to the farmers in Odisha under different agriculture schemes, the Minister added. </span><br />''
