Union Minister Bhupender Yadav visits Joka ESIC Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata

<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">Union Labour and Employment Minister Bhupender Yadav visited Joka ESIC Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata on Friday. He also participated in a meeting in the presence of the Deans of 8 ESI Medical Colleges. After the meeting the Minister reiterated Government's commitment for implementing the scheme in non-implemented districts of the country. For providing better health care to the insured persons and beneficiaries, the possibilities were also explored with regard to upgrading the infrastructure.</span></p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">Minister of State for Labour and Employment Rameshwar Teli told AIR that the number of beneficiaries of the ESI scheme needs to be increased in order to increase the number of ESI hospitals and dispensaries. He said overall infrastructure development of ESIC hospitals is also being done at the same time. The minister said the number of ESIC hospital beds is being increased and many new medical equipments are being purchased. He announced an increase in the number of beds in Joka ESIC Medical College Hospital from 350 to 500. Union Labour Secretary Aarti Ahuja, ESIC Director General Dr. Rajendra Kumar and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.</span></p>
