Union Home Secretary, R.K. Singh has stressed the need for faster development of Jammu & Kashmir, assuring full support of the Centre in giving a fillip to the development projects. Addressing a meeting of senior functionaries of the state at Srinagar, he asked for prompt service delivery to meet the aspirations of the general masses. Appreciating successful conduct of Panchayat polls, Mr. Singh said that accounting and auditing system has to be put in place after devolution of powers to the Panchayats. He also assured full support in the conservation of Dal Lake, rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits and improvement in the health sector.
