Union Health Minister J P Nadda today said immunisation of children has increased by 5 to 7 per cent in last one year. <br/><br/>Addressing the mega event to mark two years of NDA rule, Mr Nadda said, under Mission Indradhanush, one crore 62 lakh children were immunised in three phases covering 497 districts in the last year. <br/><br/>The Minister said, 2 crore 70 lakh babies are born each year, out of which approximately 90 lakh do not receive proper immunisation. <br/><br/>He said, 20 lakh children in the country work as migratory labourers, who have zero vaccination. He said, Heath Ministry took up Mission Indradhanush and focused on these children.<br/><br/>Addressing the event, Minister of Water Resources Uma Bharti spoke about the efforts to clean the Ganga River. She said, previous governments spent the money in an unplanned way. She said, NDA has a clear, phased approach to clean the river. She assured that by 2018, Ganga will be among the ten cleanest rivers.<br/><br/>Rural Development Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh said, the government has exceeded its targets in building toilets. He said, government's mission is to end open-defecation completely.<br/><br/>Women and Child Development Minister Maneka Gandhi said, the NDA government has built 30,000 new homes for orphans.
