Union Chemicals and Fertilizer Minister Mansukh Mandavia says there is no fertilizer shortage in the country. Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of South India's first nano urea production plant by IFFCO at Naganahalli near Bengaluru, the Minister said that nano urea is a revolution in the agriculture sector. He said that nano urea will reduce the storage space and cost and will increase crop production. <br />'' <br />'' Mr Mandaviya said that nano urea will reduce the subsidy burden of the government, even if the price of urea increases in the international market. The minister pointed out that research and reform is required in the fertilizer sector.  On nano fertilizer, Mandavia said, each bottle cost Rs 240 and is equal to one bag of urea. It is very effective and needs to be made popular as a step towards "Atmanirbhar Bharat. The plant is estimated to be built in 15 months, at a cost of Rs 350 crore. It is expected to produce five crore bottles of 500 ml each per annum.
