Prime Minister Narendra Modi will undertake a reshuffle of his Council of Ministers on Sunday. Official sources said the swearing-in ceremony of new ministers will take place at Rashtrapati Bhawan around ten in the morning. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, ahead of Cabinet reshuffle, Union Ministers Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Bandaru Dattatreya, Sanjeev Balyan, Mahendra Nath Pandey and Faggan Singh Kulaste have resigned from their posts. There are reports that some more ministers will resign before Sunday. <br/><br/>Mr Rudy said, it is the decision of the party. Mr Balyan also echoed same view saying he is happy to comply with the party's order. Our correspondent reports that the Prime Minister is expected to induct new faces into his Council of Ministers in this reshuffle. <br/><br/>Several new faces, including from the BJP's allies, are expected to join the Narendra Modi Cabinet while the leaders who resigned from the Council of Ministers will get responsibilities in party organization. <br/><br/>Nitish Kumar's JD(U) is also likely to find place in the Cabinet besides AIADMK. Union Ministers including Arun Jaitely, Dr Harsh Vardhan and Narendra Singh Tomar handling additional charges, are expected to be relieved from the extra responsibilities. <br/><br/>The portfolios of some ministers are also likely to change. Political observers say that leaders from poll bound states like Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh will find weightage in the new Cabinet. <br/><br/>The regional balance and proper representation of different communities will also be taken into consideration while deciding the faces for the ministerial berths.<br/><br/>The current strength of the council of ministers, including the prime minister, is 73 and the maximum number of ministers can be 81.<br/>While there are some vacancies, a number of senior ministers are also holding dual portfolios. After assuming office in May 2014, Mr Modi expanded his council of ministers twice – first on 9th November in 2014, and then on 5th July in 2016.
