The Union Cabinet today approved key amendments to the draft of the Lokpal Bill, the anti corruption legislation expected to be taken up in the forthcoming budget session on Parliament. The Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh that met at Dr. Singh's residence in New Delhi today, also cleared hike in sugarcane fair and remunerative price by forty rupees to two hundred and ten rupees per quintal for 2013-14 season. It also approved the removal of quantitative cap on export of branded edible oil of upto 5kg pack and has imposed a Minimum Export Price of 1,500 US Dollars per tonne.
