The Union Cabinet Secretary A K Seth today discussed the overall situation in Jammu and Kashmir with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The Cabinet Secretary is in Srinagar along with a high level central team which includes both Defence and Home Secretaries. The team before winding up the two day visit to the state had a detailed meeting with senior officers of the State government led by Chief Secretary Madhav Lal. The high level Central team had yesterday reviewed the implementation of flagship programmes and developmental projects in the state. The security situation was also reviewed at a high level meeting last evening. AIR correspondent reports that the issue of withdrawing Armed Forces Special Powers Act from some areas in the state was also deliberated upon in the meeting.
