In Assam, unidentified gunmen kidnapped 6 persons yesterday from Ultapani Forest Area in Kokrajhar district. Official sources said, a group of about 20 gunmen kidnapped the six WWF’s newly recruited volunteers. They were carrying out tiger and elephant census and monitoring other exercises inside the Manas National Park. So far, no group has claimed the responsibility. A massive search operation is on to rescue the kidnapped officials.
