UN Human Rights Council is discussing the continuing violence in Syria in a special session in Geneva. The Council is expected to pass a resolution , condemning the Syrian government for its actions against demonstrators opposed to President Bashar al-Assad. Earlier this month, UN investigators accused the Syrian security forces of widespread human rights violations.
