A top officer of Director General of Civil Aviation – DGCA – has been suspended for granting undue concessions to 28 flying schools across the country. DGCA's Joint Director General A K Saran and two other junior staff members – Parveen Kumar and Assistant D S Sada have been suspended on charges of causing a loss of 190 crore rupees to the public exchequer by their action.
The order was passed by Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh after his review of the case relating to granting of concessions to the flying schools in
2007. The Central Vigilance Commission had also probed the case.
