Under-19 World Cup : India defeat Australia by 100 runs in their opening group match

In their opening match of the ICC Under 19 World Cup, Indian colts crushed Australia by a massive margin of 100 runs. Opting to bat after winning the toss at Mount Maunganui today, India posted 328 for seven in the stipulated 50 overs. Skipper Prithvi Shaw led from the front with a 94-run knock and shared a 180-run stand with fellow opener Manjot Kalra, who made 86. Shubhman Gill, who followed next, contributed 63 runs. Chasing the target of 329, Australia were all out for 228 in 42.5 overs.For India, pacers Kamlesh Nagrakoti and Shivam Mavi claimed three wickets each. India who are in Group B, will next play Papua New Guinea on Tuesday. Zimbabwe is the other side in the four-team group.
