In a bid to promote grassroots cricket and identify promising young cricketing talent in the country, a leading beverage company on Wednesday rolled out the Coca Cola Cricket Cup Under-16 school tournament in association with Procam International. The tournament, which is aimed at grooming budding cricketers from across 700 schools of the country, will be mentored by former Test cricketer Saba Karim. The tournament, which kicks off tomorrow, will involve over 200 days of cricketing action spread over a period of nine months in 65 districts in eight states and two centers. The tournament will involve participation from over 11 thousand young cricketers and would strictly follow the norms of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
