The White House says it is currently unable to fulfill President Barack Obama's pledge to close the controversial military prison at Guantanamo Bay. During his presidential campaign, Mr Obama promised to close the prison in Cuba within a year of taking office. The White House has acknowledged the prison – which conjures up images of water-boarding and other alleged torture.
