UN has urged 48-hour humanitarian pauses in Aleppo, to allow humanitarian aid into rebel held areas, evacuate those in critical condition, and give civilians a respite from the barrage of bombs and attacks. <br/><br/>U.N. spokesman Stephane Dujarric said in New York that eastern Aleppo and its estimated population of 275,000 people is now declared as besieged. He reiterated the U.N. call for an end to indiscriminate bombing and shelling. <br/><br/>Dujarric said civilian infrastructure is also being severely damaged including water networks, medical facilities and bakeries. He said UN and its partners remain ready to deliver aid to Aleppo as soon as conditions allow.
