The United Nations Human Rights Council is due to hold a special session in Geneva today to discuss the continuing violence in Syria. The Council is expected to pass a resolution condemning the Syrian Government for its actions against demonstrators opposed to President Bashar Al-Assad. Earlier this month, UN investigators accused the Syrian security forces of widespread human rights violations.
