The UN Special Coordinator for the West Asia Peace Process Robert Serry has expressed his shock over last evening’s killing of four Israelis in the West Bank, as direct talks are set to begin later this week in Washington between Israelis and Palestinians. In a statement issued in Jerusalem, he condemned the murderous act and call for those responsible to be brought to justice. He urged all sides not to allow the enemies of peace to affect the negotiations about to be launched, and to progress with determination and courage towards a final settlement. Four Israeli civilians were killed last evening by gunmen as they were travelling by car to Hebron. The military wing of radical Palestinian group Hamas took the responsibility of the attack.
