The U.N. Secretary General urged his home country South Korea to play a greater role in global affairs as he arrived on Tuesday for a six-day visit. Ban Ki-moon's visit is his first to South Korea since he was elected to a second five-year term as UN chief in June. Talking to reporters at the airport, Ban said the international community is increasingly expecting South Korea to share its experience for success. He is scheduled to meet President Lee Myung-Bak and other officials as well as make a trip to his home town of Eumseong south of Seoul. Ban is also scheduled to launch a UN youth conference on Thursday in the western city of Incheon. About 500 students from around the world will take part in the third Global Model UN Conference.
