The UN secretary General Ban ki Moon is visiting Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory today after attending the Quartet meeting on Middle East in Moscow Friday.<br/> According to a statement of the spokesperson of UN Secretary-General, he is expected to meet with Israel’s President, Prime Minister and the Palestinian Prime Minister apart from visiting Gaza to see firsthand the humanitarian conditions there. <br/><br/>Meanwhile Israeli warplanes targeted the inoperative Gaza airport in the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah and two smuggling tunnels on Strip-Egypt borders midnight and this morning. <br/><br/>Israeli media Haaretz quoting medical sources reports that at least 12 Palestinians were injured, two of them seriously, in the second air strike that targeted the two tunnels. <br/>It was the second night of attacks in the Gaza Strip. Israel says that it is targeting the area in retaliation to the rocket attack from Gaza in which one migrant worker was killed in Israel on Thursday. <br/><br/>On Friday, Palestinian youths clashed with Israeli police in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Israeli security forces used tear gas against hundreds of stone-throwing Palestinian protesters following Friday prayers in Hebron.<br/> <br/>Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said prayers at the compound passed without incident and Jerusalem was generally calm. <br/><br/>Palestinians are opposing the Israel's settlement activities in occupied West bank and east Jerusalem. The Quartet for the Middle East after a meeting in Moscow yesterday urged Israel to stop building settlements and set a target for a final deal with the Palestinians within two years.<br/> <br/>UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said after the meeting of the Quartet of the United States, the United Nations, European Union and Russia that these negotiations should lead to a settlement that ends the occupation which began in 1967 and results in the emergence of an independent, democratic and viable Palestinian State living side by side in peace and security with Israel and its neighbours.<br/><br/>
