UN official to meet Aung San Suu Kyi

Officials in military-ruled Myanmar say a senior UN official will visit the country to meet the recently released democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi. The officials today said Vijay Nambiar, chief of staff for U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon will also hold talks with the leader of the army-backed party that has claimed victory in this month's election. They said Nambiar is due to arrive in the city of Rangoon on Saturday for a two-day visit.
