Unites Nations mission in Afghan has been temporarily suspended because of threats and rising levels of violence there. UN has ordered its local staff to stay home until further notice while some of the foreign staffs have been moved to capital Kabul. UN spokesman in Kabul, Dan Mc Nortan said the world body is not pulling out of Kandhahar, but he declined to say how many employees would still work there. He said there is always a balance to be struck to ensure the safety of their staff and a delivery of humanitarian assistance. Kandhahar has seen a series of violent incidents in the recent past including three bomb blasts on Monday killing two people. Meanwhile, a rocket hit a government building in capital Kabul caused no loss of life. The rocket fired from an unknown location struck the M/o Urban Developer causing some damage to the building. Security is tight in the capital as Afgahans are preparing to celebrate the 18th anniversary of Mujahidin victory against the Soviet Union on Wednesday.
