UN Envoy Appeals For Russia, US Cooperation To 'pull Syria Back From The Brink'

United Nation has appealed Russia and United States to rescue a recently collapsed cessation of hostilities to end bloodshed in Syria. <br/><br/>In a statement, United Nations Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, reiterated to ensure ceasefire to allow aid and medical evacuations for urgent cases. <br/><br/>Mistura told an emergency session of the UN Security Council that these are indeed chilling days for Syria and particularly, for the people of Aleppo, as last week was one of the worst in this six year of the conflict. <br/><br/>According to International Committee of the Red Cross, humanitarian aid has been delivered to four besieged towns for the first time in almost six months. It said, convoys comprising seventy trucks were delivered to Madaya and Zabdani near Damascus and to the villages of al Foua and Kefraya in Idlib province.<br/><br/> Earlier, the world body suspended land deliveries after a 31-truck convoy was attacked last at Urem al-Kubra in western Aleppo.<br/>Meanwhile, 85 people were killed in renewed government airstrikes in Aleppo. Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said more than 300 others also wounded and the toll is expected to rise.
