The United Nations has condemned the cross-border attacks by Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip and has acknowledged Israel's right to self-defence one day after rocket exploded close to an Israeli Kinder Garten. The UN West Asia envoy Robert Serry said yesterday that rocket attacks from Gaza and Israel were in clear violation of international law and endangered civilians. The criticism drew a strong response from Gaza where Hamas leaders said, Mr. Serry's remarks reflected double-standards. Hamas said, they will file a complaint with the UN against Israeli air raids on the Palestinian territory. Israeli war planes have carried out air strikes in Gaza in the last few days that killed five Palestinian militants which is the highest single death toll for several years.
