The United Nations has expressed "serious concerns" over the government's negligence to punish those involved in human rights violations in Nepal. The UN agency, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR)- Nepal, has said it is seriously concerned over the government's apathy to punish culprits in a number of cases, involving human rights violation by the army.<br/>The UN rights body dispatched a letter to Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, dated July 26, which was made public today, according to a release issued by the OHCHR.<br/>The OHCHR in its letter appealed to the government to book the perpetrators who were responsible in cases of arbitrary detention, torture and forced disappearances that occurred between 2001 and 2004 in army barracks during the civil war in the country.<br/>
