<span style="color: #222222;">United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres today gave a call to all nations to join hands to fight the menace of terrorism and respond to global challenge of climate change. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Giving a lecture on Global Challenges and Global solutions at a function in New Delhi, Mr Guterres said there should be no trust deficit among the countries on issues like terrorism. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Guterres said India has a key role to play to deal with global challenges and is an essential component for future muti-polar world. The United Nations Secretary-General said, diplomacy has proven that it can bring an end to conflicts. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Noting that globalisation should be fair, he said, nations should first think about the environment and developed nations like the US should consider cut in carbon emissions to deal with the climate change. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Replying to a question on gender gap and increasing cases of rape, Mr Guterres said, the world is a male-dominated society and it should be reversed. On rape, he said, it is a crime which should be fought with full intensity and a rapist should get severe punishment. He also said that there is a need to support the rape victims too.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">On New Delhi's bid for a permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council, Mr Guterres said that he will not comment on the issue at present. He, however, favoured reforms in the Security Council. </span><br />
