UN Chief appoints Haiti cholera panel

The UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, has appointed an independent panel to investigate the cause of cholera epidemic in Haiti. The panel comprising four experts will have access to UN records, and will go to Haiti to carry out investigations there. Some Haitians have blamed UN peacekeepers from Nepal for the epidemic because the first cases were detected near their base.
