The visit of a UN appointed Special Rapporteur to India on adequate housing, concluded today. <br/><br/>During her twelve day visit, the Special Rapporteur Ms Leilani Farha went to Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Ms. Farha will share her draft report with Government for factual verification before its formal tabling in March next year during the 34th Session of UNHRC in Geneva.<br/><br/>India is presently one of the 47 members of the UN Human Rights Council. The Council appoints Special Rapporteurs to report and advise on specific themes or country-specific situations. <br/><br/>In the past, India has received official visits by nine Special Rapporteurs since 2000 on different themes such as right to food and violence against women.
