Senior BJP leader Uma Bharti today met Congress President Sonia Gandhi and demanded that quick and effective action be taken to save river Ganga. Bharti, who recently rejoined the BJP, has demanded formation of an expert committee to oversee cleaning of the river and other things. Soon after the meeting with Ms Gandhi, Bharti told reporters that the Congress president has assured her that she will talk to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh regarding her demands.
