Water Resource Minister Uma Bharati has appealed to spiritual institutions and organisations to join Namami Gange programme to spread awareness about keeping the ghats clean. <br/><br/>Addressing a gathering in Rishikesh as a part of her Ganga Nirikshan Abhiyan, she said, Ganga has a very rich aquatic life right from Ganga Sagar up to Haridwar which reflects the good quality of water in the river. <br/><br/>A press release issued in New Delhi said, Ms Bharati urged the people to refrain from polluting the Ganga by washing clothes by the banks of the river and dumping waste. Ms Bharti had started her Ganga Nirikshan Abhiyan on 26th May from Ganga Sagar in West Bengal.
