The government on Wednesday issued an ultimatum to Hockey India and Indian Hockey Federation to merge by the 25th of this month, failing which the Sports Ministry will take a decision on its own. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Sports Minister Ajay Maken said his ministry is calling the two bodies to give it a last try on merger. He expressed hope that a decision will certainly come out by then.Earlier in the day, Mr Maken announced the demerger of the National Institute of Sports, Patiala from Sports Authority of India.
