In Assam, Army and Police arrested eight militants belonging to United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) and Muslim United Liberation Tigers of Assam (MULTA) in separate operations in Kamrup and Dhubri districts last night.

Three ULFA militants were arrested at Baihata Chariali by Rangiya Police last night. Three guns and 14 rounds of live ammunition have been recovered from the militants.

In another operation at Golokganj in Dhubri district, security forces arrested three ULFA cadres along with a 12 bore shot gun, a grenade and some amount of cash in US dollars.

Two MULTA militants were also arrested at Dahalagutipara in Dhubri district last night. One pistol and some incriminating documents have been recovered from the arrested militants.

All the militants are now being interrogated at Baihata Chariali and Golokganj police stations.
