ULFA militants express desire to come over-ground

In Assam, a number of hardcore militants belonging to the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) have sent feelers to the police and security forces expressing their desire to come over-ground following recent arrest of the top leaders of the outfit. <br/><br/>According to reports these cadres have divulged some vital information regarding the strength of the outfit in the bases of the 28th battalion in Myanmar to the security agencies. Sources said that a number of cadres of the outfit are frustrated over the behaviour of the senior leaders towards the lower level cadres which is one of the reasons for their desire to come overground. <br/><br/>AIR Correspondent reports that violence has come down in the State drastically during last three-four months after arrest of as many as six Bangladesh-based top militant cadres, including the Chairman of ULFA Arabinda Rajkhowa and chief of National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) Ranjan Daimary alias D R Nabla.
