Ukrainian President accorded ceremonial reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Visiting President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych was accorded a ceremonial reception at the forecourts of Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning. Mr. Yanukovych, who arrived in New Delhi on Sunday night on a three day state visit, will hold delegation level talks with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh later in the day.

The Ukrainian President is accompanied by a large official and business delegation. After the talks, both India and Ukraine are slated to sign several agreements to boost cooperation in areas of Defence, Nuclear safety, Science and Technology.

Mr. Yanukovych will also talks hold talks with President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, besides captains of trade and industry.

The Ukrainian President's visit to India marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Indo-Ukrainian bilateral trade increased from around 139 million US dollars in 1992 to over 2,865 million dollars in the last fiscal.

The Ukrainian President will visit also Agra and Bangalore tomorrow.
