Ukraine's parliament has approved the transport of nuclear fuel through its territory from Russia to Slovakia. Local media on Wednesday said parliament ratified the bill during its morning meeting with the support of 260 of the 391 deputies present. The agreement, which is valid for 10 years, requires its participants to protect the confidentiality of the rail-based shipments. Russia, Ukraine and Slovakia signed the inter-governmental agreement on transport of nuclear materials on October 21, 2010 in Bratislava after Russian company TVEL signed an agreement to supply fuel to Slovakia's nuclear power plants.
