U'Khand:Cong, BJP trying to rope in allies to form govt

The newly elected Congress legislators' meeting with party observers in Dehradun, has been postponed. It was scheduled today to take the views of party MLAs to choose the new leader of Congress Legislature party in the state. Earlier, the CLP had authorised party President Sonia Gandhi to elect the leader.Meanwhile, having fallen short of majority, rival contenders for power, the Congress and BJP are putting efforts to rope in allies to form the government. However, political uncertainity still prevails in the state with both the parties claiming to form the government within a week. Our Correspondent reports that during Holi celebration, several top leaders from both the parties have greeted the leaders of BSP, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (P) and also independents to seek their support
