Congress President Sonia Gandhi hailed as "victory for democracy" the high-stakes trial of strength in the Uttarakhand Assembly which her party clinched today. She said after the floor test, outcome of which would be announced by the Supreme Court tomorrow, that "It is a victory for democracy". At the AICC briefing, party spokesman and senior advocate<br/>Abhishek Singhvi remarked, "We may have reason to exult."<br/><br/>He, however, hastened to add that it is subject to the final result to be announced by the Supreme Court tomorrow. Singhvi said that the Congress assessment is based on the<br/>verbal accounts of MLAs, the way they sat in the House and reports in the media and it should be taken with a "bucket full of salt".
