UK Police meets Anuj Bidve’s family

In Pune, two officers from Greater Manchester Police met Indian student Anuj Bidve’s family on Monday evening and apologised for not communicating them about their son’s death at the right time and through proper channel.

Anuj was shot dead on 26 December in Manchester; however his family came to know about it through posts on his face book account.

Briefing Media persons last evening, Anuj’s parents said the UK police told them the investigations so far have revealed that the crime was motiveless, but the possibility of it being a race or hate crime could not be ruled out.

Chief Superintendent Russ Jackson and detective constable Peter Rickards were with Anuj’s family for two hours.
