The United Kingdom is committed to meet the target of doubling trade with India by 2015. Delivering a speech in New Delhi, British High Commissioner to India, Sir James Bevan KCMG emphasized the need of modern development partnership between the two countries based on technical cooperation. He said UK is opening two new Deputy High Commissions in Hyderabad and Chandigarh which will boost the largest diplomatic network in India and it will also play a vital role in crating new opportunities for partnership. He said UK also decided recently to ease travel advice for Jammu and Kashmir for the first time in 20 years which is based on an objective assessment of the security situation. The High Commissioner also refuted the allegation that Britain is not welcoming Indian students saying the United Kingdom actively seek to attract the best and brightest students to Britain.
