Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani said the University Grants Commission, UGC is implementing several schemes for improving the standard of education and teaching universities and colleges in the country. <br/><br/>Replying to a supplementary in the Lok Sabha today, she said the UGC undertakes maintenance of standards in education and teaching and quality assurance in Universities, Deemed to be Universities and Colleges.<br/><br/>The Minister said UGC has notified several regulations with the objective of sustenance and improvement in the quality of higher education and for undertaking academic reforms.
