Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today inaugurated a call centre 'Udyami Helpline', which will provide information about business possibilities and loan facilities to entrepreneurs keen on setting up small units.Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Minister Dinsha Patel was also present on the occasion.Stating that first generation entrepreneurs faced hurdles in credit availability, technology and marketing, the Prime Minister said that the Government support in these areas could improve their viability problems to a large extent. He also emphasised on the role of MSMEs in employment generation.The toll-free helpline number 1800-180-6763 will provide information on a wide range of subjects like guidance on setting up a unit, access loans from banks, project profiles and about various MSME schemes. It will also help in lodging complaints with various central and state government agencies dealing with MSMEs, including banks.
