Uduppi Cochin Shipyard Ltd. bags Rs 580 cr order for construction of cargo vessels

The Uduppi Cochin Shipyard Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Ltd has bagged an international order worth 580 crore rupees for the design and construction of six new generation diesel-electric 3800 DWT general cargo vessels. The order for the "Future Proof Dry Cargo Vessels" came from the Norway-based M/s Wilson Shipowning AS. The contract has the option for an additional eight vessels which are intended to transport general cargo inland as well as coastal waters of Europe.<br />'' <br />''The environment-friendly Diesel Electric vessels will have the facility for the installation of wind foil units and battery hybrid systems.<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The first vessel will be delivered by December next year and the entire delivery is expected to be completed within March 2026.</span><br />
