In Kerala, UDF candidate Anoop Jacob has won the Piravom bypoll. He defeated his nearest rival M J Jacob of the LDF by a margin of 12,070 votes. Anoop Jacob polled 82,756 votes, while MJ Jacob got 70,686.BJP candidate K R Rajagopal emerged a distant third with 3241 votes.
