In Kerala, differences over seat allocation with CMP and Socialist Janata (Democratic) , constituents in the Congress led UDF in the state have been ironed out. An agreement was reached between Congress, CMP, and Socialist Janata (Democratic) parties at a meeting of UDF leaders in Kochi Friday morning. As per the agreement, the Socialist Janata (Democratic) party will be contesting only in six seats as against seven allocated to them. Briefing media persons after the meeting, the Opposition leader in the state Assembly, Mr Ommen Chandy said Socialist Janata (Democratic) party has decided not to contest from the Nenmara seat, in protest against the Congress decision not to allocate it the Chittoor seat. Consequently, CMP, another constituent of the UDF, has been allocated the Nenmara seat, which will be contesting from Kunnamkulam and Dharmadam seats also. Mr Ommen Chandy said Congress will be contesting from Nattika Assembly constituency, for which the candidate will be announced on Friday itself.
